Alzheimer’s disease – the worst thing that can happen to you

Alzheimer’s disease is a brain disease, it’s irreversible and progressive. Alzheimer’s disease will slowly destroy your memory and thinking skills. At the last faze of Alzheimer’s disease you won’t be able to carry out the simplest everyday tasks. Usually first symptoms of Alzheimer’s, people notice in their 60s. In this moment it’s estimated that as many as 5.1 million people in America have Alzheimer’s disease. As you probably know Alzheimer’s disease is causing dementia among older people, it’s not always the case but it’s the most common case. What is Dementia? It is the loss of cognitive functioning such as thinking, reasoning and remembering. For Dementia is also typical loss of behavioral abilities, as time passes this loss is becoming bigger and bigger till person is enable to do basic daily life function without help of other people. This not something that just appear one day, this will happen in the final stage of disease. The first doctor that discovered symptoms and explained them was Alois Alzheimer, that’s why disease is called Alzheimer’s disease.  He was the first doctor who has noticed the changes that are happening in the patient brain, this was back in 1906. Even today we still don’t know much about these severe disease. We don’t know how the Alzheimer’s disease process begins in the first place. If we knew that it will be much easier to set the proper treatment and maybe even found a cure. All we know, for now, is that damage on the brain starts at least a decade before problems come on surface and we become aware of the changes.

First thing you will notice on the person that has Alzheimer’s disease are memory problems.  These problems are first warning signs of cognitive loss. Cognitive loss is usually caused by Alzheimer’s disease.  People often mix Alzheimer’s disease with Amnestic Mild Cognitive Impairment, this is not a disease it’s a contion . People with Amnestic Mild Cognitive Impairment condition have memory problems but much less severe than people with  Alzheimer’s disease. Unfortunately people with Amnestic Mild Cognitive Impairment condition will more likely develop Alzheimer’s than the persons without it. There are some other indicators of Alzheimer’s disease beside memory loss. Indicators such as problems in word finding, problems in reasoning, problems in proper judgment and vision spatial issues. All these problems could be the sign of early stages of Alzheimer’s disease. It is most important to noticed the first signs of Alzheimer’s, this will help doctors to track the course of the disease and set the proper treatments. Unfortunately there are no methods to diagnose Alzheimer’s disease for certainly. This can be done only after patient death. Today, doctors have several different methods and different tools that can help them determine is it or not Alzheimer’s. Like I said this can’t be done with 100 percent certainty but close enough to set diagnose and treatment.
